Spring Foaling. - Birth of Maine Lee Valencia on 1 May, 2003.

Virginia's water has broken.
The delivery has begun!
Deb Plengey and Trudie Lee look on.
The muzzle and two front legs are out.

Trudie helps Virginia with the delivery.
Maine Lee Valencia is presented to the world.

Valencia seeks her mother out immediately.
After delivering , Virginia is fed a tasty mash.
The owners look on, preparing to do the imprinting.
While Virginia is snacking her foal is being imprinted.

Up under her own power, but still a bit wobbly.
Finding the nipple. This sometimes takes a while,
Valencia get a little support from Deb.
and a little bit of help in the right direction.

Phone calls have gone out.
Virginia and Valencia get some quiet time together.
The usual suspects gather around the foaling stall.
It's been a long evening for them.

Its been an exciting evening for everyone.

Foalings always are.

Time for us to sit back and relax too!
